"John Hastie" steering station with 30" brass ships wheel. The top of the brass steering station on the 9 3/4" rudder indicator is marked: "John Hastie & Co Ltd., Engineers, Greenock. The brass stand is 32" high with the wheel mounted and the spoke in vertical position. The total height is 46". The 30" 8-spoke brass wheel is marked on the hub: "Brown Brothers & Co Ltd." A great decor item that can be shipped by UPS.

1942 U. S. NAVY WW II DESTROYER STEERING STATION
1942 U. S. Navy WW II destroyer steering station, polished and lacquered to gleaming perfection. This is a museum piece in A-1 condition, beautifully restored. The brass wheel with wood surround alone is a master piece. When wheel is turned, the indicator needle points to the required rudder indication. Two brass lights show the helmsman his indicator dial during battle conditions. TheWestinghouse tag on the lower body supplies info regarding inner working functions. The body is marked with stamped in # 3B7195. This rare destroyer steering station is for that retirement gift or addition to your U. S. Navy collection or museum.
