VERY RARE VINTAGE 20TH C. " KONGSBERG" WHALING HARPOON GUN/CANNON WITH 1 HARPOON - MAKER" KONGSBERG VAABENFABRIK" RARE FIND for the whaling antiques collector that has everything!The gun in non-operational. I think there is a recoil spring in the chamber between the barrel and the body of the gun. This recoil capability is jammed. There is no stand or swivel mount for the gun. The bolt action is working, although I am unsure how it all operates. I don't know whether it is a muzzle or breech loader. The big cap at the back end of the barrel can be easily removed by turning a locking device. The harpoon is 48 inches long. There is one hole for a wire trace and a slot with a second hole for the barbs to be fitted. The bore of the cannon is 1.5 inches. GUN/CANNON will be sold as is.
The "KONGSBERG "Whaling Harpoon /Gun /Cannon
weighs approx. 150 pounds and is shown to be
resting on red automotive supports, which are
not included, but show the unit off very well.
