This Light has been polished, lacquered and tastefully mounted on a wooden plinth.

Used in the European theater during WW2 this running light or convoy light was blue so that it would be difficult to see for the enemy submarines but it still was bright enough for the sailors to navigate and travel in a zig zag pattern to avoid the enemy.
